Most already know that Watchtower Corp Atty Phil Brumley uses a Patterson, NY address as his residence.  Using Google maps, 131 Brimstone Road, Patterson NY is starting to shape up into a veritable mansion.  Maybe they are planning another Rutherford (also an Atty) style Beth Sharim but this time close to Wallkill?

Anyway, Brumley's abode is owned by the Valley Farms Corporation (according to Patterson, NY Assessor's office.

Valley Farms Corporation alson owns several other single family residence properties in Patterson and perhaps in other NY towns as well?

Anyone care to guess why the WT feels the need to "cloak" their properties?  If the end is truly near, then why are they protecting their material goods when things like houses will soon have no value?

You are looking at the assesment before the renovations.  Google Earth the address and look at the pics  .  Even still, $425K isn't a bad perk for a "humble servant".  Aren't those in the lead who receive "double honor" also expected to be doubly humble?  Why do so many Bros live in dorms and Brumley in a palatial home?

Blondie, the info is available on the Town of Patterson, NY website.  Valley Farms only owns 3-4 properties in Patterson, but Patterson is a fly-speck.

Anyway, why are they buying property under Valley Farms Corp rather than using the WT name?

MinisterAmos, he deserved it since he graduated from law school many years ago, He is also the lead attorney for the WT whether we like him or not.

Are you an apologist?  Just curious because I don't recall ever seeing a sign on the collection box to house WT Leaders in luxury, but it seems that my money did that anyway.

When I was at Bethel the Governing Body lived in basically the apartments as the R&F, now the WT buys houses for the Attornies and hides them behind shell Corps?

As far as him graduating from school, that's nice.  I bet the Bros paid for that as well.

So why are they hiding behind this Corp?

No, I am not an apologist at all, if you know someone that studied hard at law school, he deserves his "worldly" rewards. I would like to know if he graduated from law school before he became a witness??????

George Brumley long time missionary whose story was  in a 1992 watchtower, had a son named Philip who was accepted to NY bethel service in the early to mid 70's. Philip Brumley graduated law school in 1988 in Brooklynn. Who do you think paid?

twinkle toes, thank you for the tidbits, he does not deserve to be the WT attorney, but if he wants to, he can leave Bethel and make alot more money outside, I would think the GB wants to prevent that from happening, so the lawyers get better perks so they will stay at Bethel. The WT need them badly, legal dept is vital to the Watchtower. Without the legal dept, the Watchtower will collapse in a heartbeat.

Valley Farms Corporation ?  Not much info. on here about it , Charles. J. Rice  (appropriate name ?) is President. Who he ?

I presume it runs the food production side, but how is it funded ??? Is it receiving funds from a charity and if so why, who takes the profits ?

worth a close look ? I am in U.K so not sure how to search for detailed info on American Corps.

$425,500 is a lot for Patterson, NY.  The homes in this neighborhood are about half a million dollars--a lot for rural NY.

It was built 20 years ago and is on almost 2 acres.

I don't understand.  Is the idea that wts bought this property for one of their volunteers?  Using donated funds?  That is messed up!

What's this guy's deal?  Is he a volunteer or paid staff?  I guess if he's paid and this is in lieu of salary, then it's none of our business.

Valley Farms is a corporation maintained to pay taxes on residential parcels.  When they say that they pay taxes on ___% of their property (which they often say to the neighbors to keep them off their backs) it is because they pay on these small residences.  (There may also be a liability issue too- if I know the WT Society right.)  They also use Valley Farms as a front to purchase property when a local doesnt want to sell to WT.

As far as I know, Brumley did go to law school while at Bethel- whether on a scholarship or paid by Bethel, I dont know.  I used to really think that was cool, until I realized the slimey stuff the Legal Dept does.  Those guys are worse than the GB in my book.  They not only know the real scoop, they scheme to protect the power of the few.

Again note the double standard at work, r&f JWs strongly discouraged from pursuing an education, meanwhile headquarters sends Bethelites to Law School.
