Awesome. Is this new? I have never heard of a "workbook" before. We have schedule, and the TMS guidebook, but no workbook. Is this just for Elders? Was this part of the secret announcement at the AGM? I have just never heard of such a thing. I did throw up in my mouth a bit when I saw the picture.

    Thanks Atlantis/Petra

Isn't that the thing that all the "cool" JWs bring to the meeting?

It's great because it looks like you are oh-so-well-prepared but really all you did was download a file & print off some pages.

It makes sense to put all the relevent material together rather than get the congregation to bring 4 or 5 books to the meeting. It also means they can rewrite material so it is in line with new doctrine rather than risk people bringing old books to the meeting with old light.

It also means that the faithful are less inclined to go off on a tangent and do their own research.

The expression workbook also gives the impression of something compulsory that must be completed the underlying message is "we have made it easier for you to find the material you need, there is no excuse for not completing the asigned tasks."

They could have called it a guide or study aid but they have called it a work book. That says everything you need to know about this religion.

Exactly, Nugget! Why run the risk of accidentally opening the GB/FDS's provision called the Reasoning book, and seeing contradicting "truth?" Just study from your workbook. A quick glance through the TMS schedule reveals the " needs " of the World Wide Brotherhood. One subject is from the Insight Book under Achan. The title is....( drum roll please!).... Achan-Robbing God brings dire consequences.

It will be interesting to see if this is twisted to inflict guilt regarding " voluntary contributions " that God demands via the FDS/GB.

"It also means that the faithful are less inclined to go off on a tangent and do their own research."

Spot on, nugget! Everything else has become completely scripted, so now that last meeting with a few snippets of freedom has become enslaved.

The "new faithful" wouldn't dream of going off on their own and doing any—dare I say that blasphemous word?—independent thinking!

It's undoubtedly further fulfillment of the words in Hebrews, that "mature people" have had "their perceptive powers trained to distinguish between right and wrong."

Atlantis, thanks yet again for sharing this!

I noticed just after the index pages under the heading 'Instructions' that they will stil be calling their bible the NWT in 2014, So that puts an end to rumours of a name change for the JW bible this year with the new release.

I think this is put together by individual JWs, not the WTS.
