I was somehow thinking that it did say this for John the Baptist, but thought not about Jesus.

The Bible is silent on His celibacy - or lack thereof.

However, it does give a hint as to His status in these words of the Master:

Matthew 20:28 "That is what the Son of Man has done: He came to serve, not be served—and then to give away his life in exchange for the many who are held hostage."    MSG.

    Let the reader use discernment.

Some of the many Gospels might discuss Jesus' sex life.  The four Gospels commonly known certainly don't, at least after editing.

Some view that wedding celebration that he attended as being his own.  They point to the fact that they came to him, when they ran out of wine.  Mary mag is the obvious choise as a mate for him.  Wasn't she the first to see him, post death?

Oh!  You also mentioned John the Baptist, didn't you?

Luke 1:15 -17"He'll drink neither wine nor beer. He'll be filled with the Holy Spirit from the moment he leaves his mother's womb. He will turn many sons and daughters of Israel back to their God. He will herald God's arrival in the style and strength of Elijah, soften the hearts of parents to children, and kindle devout understanding among hardened skeptics—he'll get the people ready for God."    MSG

Elijah and John were both ascetics, so we can draw our conclusions.

He still does; John the Baptist is the bridegroom.

The early Catholic church edited the Bible to weed out anything about Jesus that might give away the real message (that he wanted us to lead ourselves).  They also weeded out anything that might suggest that Jesus was not born of a virgin, or that he was not definitively celibate.  Then, the Catholic church could impose celibacy in the name of Jesus (they did, in fact, do that with monks and nuns--a practice they continue to this day--and to priests).

Now, while the Catholic church itself is subject to reform, the Bible they left behind is what Protestant denominations have to work with.  And, if that Bible suggests that Jesus was celibate or that he was born of a virgin, they incorporate it into their own teachings.  All of which makes them prone to making sex difficult to obtain.  It is of note that Islam and Hindu also have unnecessary doctrines to dirtify sex.

    One possibly relevant text:

"For some are eunuchs because they were born that way; others were made that way by men; and others make themselves eunuchs because of the kingdom of heaven. Let the one who can accept this accept it" (Matthew 19:12).

Bible seems to state pretty clearly to me that jesus was homosexual, spending the night with the naked young man, roaming around with 12 other dudes, attracting misogynistic followers like Paul...

This topic first came up on another board (on which James the agnostic is probably the most religiously informed poster there) - so I decided to bounce it around here.

A poster on this mostly secular board made an interesting point:  It is really not stated whether the Apostles were married or not.  Except, of course, for the anti-marriage Paul.  So, maybe the lack of information on Jesus is not so unusual, and maybe we should not read that much into it.

However, in Jewish custom, marriage was a sort of rite of passage - a Mitzvah, or good command which should be kept.  I did not know this, but a poster there also claimed that you had to be married to be a Rabbi or "Teacher" and that there is a gospel reference to people calling him this.  It would indeed be highly unusual in their custom if all 12 of them remained unmarried past their 20s.

I think this may indicate that later editions (what we have now) of the Gospels probably left out important personal details of the main character's lives (for example - nothing about Jesus from 12 to 30) - because they thought it would cloud the issue of their main message.

It is really not stated whether the Apostles were married or not.

In Matthew it refers to Peter's mother-in-law.

    That's an error in translation.

    Matt. 29: 1
An lo, Jebus Dick was never wettened.
