Thank you for this information! Floyd Kite's address in 1980 alluded to this incident:

In Japan, the Yearbook reported that when World War II was over, the leading brother in that country who had been the spearhead of the work there, sort of a branch overseer, went on national television in 1945 in Japan and rejected and renounced Jehovah’s Witnesses. Even though there was only a handful of Jehovah’s Witnesses in that country. What an impact that has on us!

The 1998 Yearbook discusses the "apostasy" of branch overseer Junzo Akashi (allegedly on grounds of immorality) and how he notified Knorr in 1947 that he "no longer agreed with Bible teachings".

    Hi! Leolaia

    How do you do?
I often see you in this forum.

    You are so lovely.
It is expressed in Japanese, saying "kawaii".

The 1998 Yearbook discusses the "apostasy" of branch overseer Junzo Akashi (allegedly on grounds of immorality)

    This information is not true.
There is no evidence that he was an immoral person.

He(Junzo) did marriage 3 times in his life.

He was divorced from the first wife.
His wife did not desire living together with him.
She did not come to Japan with him.
In Japan, it is a formal reason for divorce by a law.

    He remarried in Japan.
His wife received persecution at the time of war, and died in prison.
Then, he is also thrown into prison and he was not able to meet his wife.
After war ended, he got to know that his wife died.

He did third marriage several years later.

He is not an immoral person.

    Polygamy?
    The society is a liar!
The society always deceives sincere people using false information.

Thank you. Do you know Gekijyouban Jyanguru Taitei? That is where my name here came from -- Leo and Laia, see? :) I've been to Japan twice, enjoyed it both times.

Here is a fair article on Akashi:

    Hi! Leolaia

I'm glad to talk with you.
    But I cannot speak English.
However, since I would like to talk to you, I try hard.

Do you know Gekijyouban Jyanguru Taitei?

I do not know the theater version.
However, all Japanese know about "Jungle taitei" well.
Because it is Osamu Tezuka's product.
When I was a child, I was watching the TV program.

That is where my name here came from -- Leo and Laia, see? :)

    Yeah, I see.
I think that the origin of your handle name is wonderful.

    wow
    You may know Japan.
If there is an opportunity, please come to Japan again. ;-)

Thanks Possible-San Anata wa ikaga de gozai mas'ka

I appreciate your info to the forum.

    You have to forgive Wa-Hah-Penn-San

We are all a little stupid when faced with inter-cultural communication.

    I've used http://translate.google.com/ too.

I like to use google translate service even if it isn't perfect.

    Wishing you well.

    cattails.

    Thank you for your consideration.

Well, probably, Mr. wha happened? is a gentle man in reality.
I have seen a thread to which he sympathizes with his neighbor who is a relative of a JW.

But he is my English teacher. (especially, slang words)
