make 12 little roses out of paper, painted red/green and everything,
with a 12 line short poem, one line of the poem written on the leaf of each rose.
and 13 days (school days) before her birthday leave a rose in her locker every day (we're both seniors in high-school and i know she uses her locker everyday)
so then the day of her birthday leave a real rose Lotsa Lovein her locker and a note with the whole poem from the leaves of the paper roses and also something cheesy like "As beautiful and sweet as this rose, it doesn't even compare to you" and also words form my heart,
then take her to her favorite restaurant that night (my treat), give her this American Eagle alone or with her friends or whatever she wants to do...
to much?? just right? or not enough?

I think we need more information.

Are you two an established couple?  Have you written poems for her or given her roses before?  How did she react?

Your plan sounds really marvelous and sweet, but without knowing her (or your relationship,) it is difficult to guess...

However, on the romance factor alone, I give you an A+.

    edward612,

It's chaps like you that make it so hard for the rest of us. now my good Lady will expect all that instead of her usual crate of Duff Beer.

Truth of the matter is - they all have it in 'em; they just forget about it as they age!

Sounds like a fantastic memory in the making . . . enjoy!

Just begs the question... How will you beat that NEXT year?

Awesome idea (assuming ya'll are an established couple... otherwise its just kind of weird. lol). I may have to use it myself some day.

I would absolutely hate that. I'm not being sarcastic. I hate flowers and "heartfelt poetry." But that's me. Some girls are into that. My advise on gift giving: make it personal to the recipient. To me, giving a girl a rose because it's traditionally romantic is like saying, "You're not special enough for me to give you something that's personal to you, so I got you a gift that I safely figured most of the four billion women on the planet would be content with."

And the poetry is about YOU and how you feel. This should be about her. Is there a hobby she's crazy about? Is there an activity she would love to do or something special she wants to own but would never buy for herself? Getting her a gift related to HER is the best way to show your affection because it shows you pay attention to her and care about her interests, not just the way she makes you feel.

Again, this is just my opinion for what it's worth. Obviously you've gotten very different responses from other women and you know this girl so you're in the best position to know what she would like.
