Oregon Post 1622 of 3364 Since 10/9/2003	Just adopted today from the animal shelter, our new daughter Molly, at age 8 weeks, and her already loving brother Jake her doggy mentor. Isn't she just the cutest thing ever???!!! Sherry

Oregon Post 1623 of 3364 Since 10/9/2003	Oh my, now I remember why I didn't have more kids! Just spent the first night with Molly. Up with her about every hour as she would cry piteously. Then you get up, of course you can't take them out of the crate until they stop crying, then down the stairs and into the backyard for her business. That takes about 10 minutes while she explores. Of course Jake comes along to supervise the whole event. By the time I get back to bed I'm wide awake and have to wait to get sleepy again. Just as I start to get into a nice deep sleep.... Puppies, gotta love em! But the paybacks in puppy play are worth it! Sherry

Washington Post 9293 of 11070 Since 3/22/2001	so sweet.............I suggest you try to find one of those recordings of a mother's heartbeat. It's supposed to work wonders for human babies. It just might work. I tried a clock for a puppy we had once...............didn't work. Sleeping with the kids worked though. He was lonely for a warm body. He would sleep on the bed with one boy or the other.

Oregon Post 1629 of 3364 Since 10/9/2003	One of the hazards of adopting from the shelter, she has a nasty case of kennel cough right now. I'm dosing her with antibiotics. She and my other dog Jake are buds now, she follows him around like a shadow, keeping up with him with those little puppy bunny hops. So cute. I almost wish she could stay this age forever!! Sherry

Post 5010 of 5915 Since 6/27/2001	Oh Sherry! What a doll she is! And Molly - cute name. Molly and Jake. Sounds like they should have their own sitcom. I tried a clock for a puppy we had once...............didn't work. Sleeping with the kids worked though. He was lonely for a warm body. He would sleep on the bed with one boy or the other. I never thought about that before Marilyn. Puppies are used to sleeping one on top of the other in a litter. I imagine she might just be lonely. I tried the clock thing too, but it didn't work. I did try another thing though and it worked pretty well. Get an old worn sweatshirt or undershirt (something you've worn and not washed) and put it in her kennel. It will have your scent on it and will make her feel comfy. I did this for my SPCA doggy when I first got him and it really calmed him down.
