Me:I have my fathers strange brownish/reddish curly hair, his cheeks his eyebrows and his jawline. I have my mothers face shape and eyes, I think. I also have my mother's figure (pleasantly plump!). Both my parents are pretty tall, my mom is 5'6" my dad is 5'10", I am almost 5'8"I inherited my mother's tendency for hypertension. My blood pressure zooms up and down. I also have her heart murmur. My father has had chronic sinus/allergies/throat and ear infections. I still get ear infections to this day and right now I have the most annoying trickle down my throat! My father has A+ blood type, my mother B-, I am B+ blood group. A blood test I took a long time ago shows that I am a Tay-Sachs carrier. One of my parents must have Jewish ancestry---I guess that explains my obsession with briskets, rye bread and horseradish! As for personality: my parents are both hot-tempered and don't take crap from anyone. Their old-school, kick-you-in-the-ass tough love approach has gotten me out of more than one jam in my life, but has also gotten me into several bad ones. Both parents have limited education, but are very intelligent people. My father has this amazing ability to recall facts, dates and do math all in his head. I can do the same. My mother has beautiful handwriting, almost looks like caligraphy typsetting. My handwriting has also gotten compliments, but it's nowhere near hers. My mother is a great story teller and acts like a stand-up comedian. My father is quieter, but once you get him started........ He survived WWII and has traveled most of the world. He was born in Portugal. I have only 1 very old picture of my grandfather from like the 1950s. My father has been a Yankee fan since 1954, long before he even came to the US.How about your parents? Who do you resemble the most and in what ways? |

Long after we were grown up, I once asked my sister.. why did mom hate me so much? It is true, she hated me with a passion and could not hide it. My sister looked at me and said.. you really don't know? No, I didn't know and I always wondered about it.Her answer.. well, mom hates dad so much she'd kill him if it wasn't against the law, and you are JUST like him. You look like him, talk like him, think like him and act like him. I guess that answers your question. |

Physically, I look like my mother as you can see in my other thread. http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/9/98264/1.ashx I'm two inches taller (5' 2") and about 10 lbs lighter, but I have her exact body shape. Same thighs, same arm shape, same flat Asian butt (LOL!), same basic bone structure. In the face I look a lot like her. Oval face, dark almond eyes, freckles across my nose bridge, same dark hair (except mine's really wavy), same droopy eyelid where I have to put make up on crooked to make my eye look straight.Personality-wise, I think I must be a mix of them. I don't know my momma, so I'm not sure. I'm honest, outspoken, stubborn, and bossy like my dad. I'm articulate, well read, organized, anal-retentive, and a bit of a nit-picker like my dad. My mouth has gotten me in trouble on more than one occasion. That's from my dad and all the Irish on that side of the bloodlines. But it's that Irish strong will that helped get me out of the bOrg and start overcoming the pain of the past, so I can't complain too much. I'm also tenderhearted, naive, positive, overly-sensitive, love people and animals, drawn to those hurting, and love a cute outfit! Those must come from my momma. Everyone I've talked to that knows her, remembers her being very loving, overly sensitive, always quick to comfort those that are hurting. She had an uncanny ability through a terrible language barrier to know when someone needed a hand patted, or an encouraging smile. My grandfather said he'd never met a woman who could speak so much with her eyes. Mozz says the same thing about me sometimes. She was also quite the clothes horse. She had tons of purses and shoes that matched her outfits perfectly. Her hair was always perfectly coiffed, light-handed make up always looked perfect, and she always smelled of the prettiest perfume. Although I'm not quite the clothes horse, I too just love being a girl - all the froo-froo stuff like that! I wish she were around to share that stuff with. |

Well, I look like my mother in the face (so much so, that strangers have walked up to me and asked if I am her daughter), but don't have her body shape. My temperament is more like my dad's (he is askeered of spiders, too! lol ...). His philosophy is 'walk softly and carry a big stick'. I got my mother's head for figures and logic, and my dad's ease with nature and all things workshop-related. :D I don't know where I got my fear of housework, as they are both clean freaks! tal |

I don't remember that much of my mum as she died when I was a child.I guess I inherited my fathers love of learning and curiousity.I made a promise that I would do and think the opposite of my father at an early age and it appears to have been good personal adviceHe's not a great role model..... |

That's exactly what my ex-wife said about my daughter. She doesn't hate her, but she reminds her so much of me she can't stand it. Must explain why I'm the one raising her now (and I'm very glad I am). I look ALOT like my father, just taller. I say I'm the full size version of him. Also I inherited his mild personality. He never loses his temper or gets too upset, and neither do I. |

I look more like my father, and his mother. It's the eyes and the double chin I think. I have their coloring, dark eyes, olive skin. They had black hair, and mine is brown. My brother looks like my mother, large round eyes, curly brown hair, larger face. |

My face is alot like my mothers but I have my dads eyes. My mom is really short and my dad was 6' 3" (before his bone loss) I ended up being 5'5". So I'm sort of a real mixture of both my parents. My dad is really quiet and my mom talks nonstop, I'm sort of in the middle of that too. My personality often resembles my mom especially when I get really stressed out. ![]() |

My parents are loud scary people from New York... with good fortunate, I did not inherit the loudness or the scariness...however, I did inherit my dad's intelligence and pug irish nose. On my mom's Jewish side I did inherit the nappy hair....- Preston |

I look like my Dad and I've got a temper like him. But apparently I've got the brains of my Mum, but I often misjudge things like my Dad. I don't see myself as a quitter like my Dad though, and I don't see myself as being quite so gullible or naive as my Mum. I'd like to think I'm more like my Mum, even though I know that's not true. |

mmmm.....I look more like my grandmother than my mom....and everyone tells me that. But I got my moms nerves even though I fight it. I got my dad's height...my mom's only 5'3....I'm 5'8. People have called my dad laid back and they've said the same about me BUT there's a difference between being laid back and walked on. I don't let people walk on me.

Interestingly, I am probablely a equal mix of both in the looks depatment.Mom's eyes, dad head shape and nose.My complexision is lighter than both - because of my dad's mixed heritage - Irish and Black.I have the temperment of my dad, calm and steady. My mom' s outspoken personality. My love of sports from my dad. |
