    Wellington's Blanket Man, Ben Hana, died suddenly yesterday, his final act in public being to wave to passers-by from the footpath outside Wellington Hospital.  Ben was the black sheep of a strick Jehovah's Witness mother.

    May he rest in peace

    WEIRD about the mother being a witness. As to Blanket Man ...  Mental illness is a sad sad thing.

    Getting yourself out of a cult doesn't mean the cult is out of you.

    I know of a few Kiwis who were raised in doomsday cults who went on to make a mess of their lives.  My family has been involved with some of them.  I would be very surprised if Ben didn't know my family.  I'm sure I could easily find out who studied with his Mum, but I might not like the answer.
