For me Snow Patrol's "Chasing Cars" is becoming something of an Anthem for me whilst I am severing myself from the JW's / WTS. If you are unfamiliar withthe lyrics follow this link

    http://www.nme.com/awards/video/id/E1W5lFW-vUY/search/patrol

Has anyone else got a song that helped them during thier exit?

I have quite a few.  Here are two of my favorites from my fading period:

    Supertramp, The Logical Song

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pBAasek8NR4

When I was young, it seemed that life was so wonderful,
A miracle, oh it was beautiful, magical.
And all the birds in the trees, well theyd be singing so happily,
    Joyfully, playfully watching me.
But then they send me away to teach me how to be sensible,
    Logical, responsible, practical.
And they showed me a world where I could be so dependable,
    Clinical, intellectual, cynical.

There are times when all the worlds asleep,
    The questions run too deep
    For such a simple man.
Wont you please, please tell me what weve learned
    I know it sounds absurd
But please tell me who I am.

Now watch what you say or theyll be calling you a radical,
    Liberal, fanatical, criminal.
Wont you sign up your name, wed like to feel youre
    Acceptable, respecable, presentable, a vegtable!

At night, when all the worlds asleep,
    The questions run so deep
    For such a simple man.
Wont you please, please tell me what weve learned
    I know it sounds absurd
But please tell me who I am.

The Clash- Should I Stay or Should I Go

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Ag8J2NMYmc

Darling you gotta let me know
Should I stay or should I go?
If you say that you are mine
Ill be here til the end of time
So you got to let know
Should I stay or should I go?

    Always tease tease tease
Youre happy when Im on my knees
One day is fine, next is black
So if you want me off your back
Well come on and let me know
Should I stay or should I go?

Should I stay or should I go now?
Should I stay or should I go now?
If I go there will be trouble
An if I stay it will be double
So come on and let me know

    This indecisions bugging me
If you dont want me, set me free
Exactly whom Im supposed to be
Dont you know which clothes even fit me?
Come on and let me know
Should I cool it or should I blow?

Should I stay or should I go now?
If I go there will be trouble
And if I stay it will be double
So you gotta let me know
Should I stay or should I go?

Also, for years I was a 70's/80's Heavy Metal lover.  I put that aside for the dear WTS, so this was very inspirational.
The words and the fact that it's reminiscent of a life before WTS:

    AC DC- Back in Black

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tXaZmY52gHM

    Back in black
    I hit the sack
Ive been too long Im glad to be back [i bet you know im...]
    Yes, Im let loose
    From the noose
    Thats kept me hanging about
Ive been looking at the sky
    cause its gettin me high
Forget the hearse cause I never die
    I got nine lives
    Cats eyes
Abusin every one of them and running wild

    Chorus:
    cause Im back
    Yes, Im back
    Well, Im back
    Yes, Im back
    Well, Im back, back
    (well) Im back in black
    Yes, Im back in black

    Back in the back
    Of a cadillac
Number one with a bullet, Im a power pack
    Yes, Im in a bang
    With a gang
Theyve got to catch me if they want me to hang
Cause Im back on the track
    And Im beatin the flack
Nobodys gonna get me on another rap
    So look at me now
    Im just makin my play
Dont try to push your luck, just get out of my way

    Chorus

Well, Im back, yes Im back
Well, Im back, yes Im back
    Well, Im back, back
    Well Im back in black
    Yes Im back in black

    Hooo yeah
    Ohh yeah
    Yes I am
    Oooh yeah, yeah oh yeah
    Back in now
    Well Im back, Im back
    Back, Im back
    Back, Im back
    Back, Im back
    Back, Im back
    Back
    Back in black
    Yes Im back in black

    Out of the sight

Being an old hippy, atheist and big punk-as-well-as-glam rock fan, I love this relatively 'new-to-me' band, and this song

(no offense to any religious people, but evil/good is basically a religious concept, so the 'evil is good' is a play on words)

Frankenstein Drag Queen, Evil Is Good

Well, God gave us a big black eye
and the Devil puts a steak on it
    and says its alright
they tell us we must choose a side
well why does the darker one
    seem so bright

Well, the world s telling us we re doomed
and they don t approve of pointy hats
    and magic with brooms
well, now I ve got a question for you
well, if Gods so f***ing perfect
why did he f**k up on you?

They tell us if we pray
    that when we die
we will go to a better place
well I don t wanna do
    the things I should
cause it feels good to be evil
    cause evil is good

Well, you go to church on Sunday
    to wash away the sh*t
you did the past 6 days
now you re on your knees to pray
well we pray your stupid God
will come and take you away

They tell us if we pray
    that when we die
we will go to a better place
well I don t wanna do
    the things I should
cause it feels good to be evil
    cause evil is good

    Yeah, evil is good
    Yeah, evil is good

    Evil, evil, evil
    Evil, evil, evil

AC DC's JAILBREAK would work nicely also.  The only problem is the unhappy ending:

    He made it out...
...with a bullet in his back.

    Green Day - Minority

I want to be the minority
    I dont need your authority
    Down with the moral majority
cause I want to be the minority

I pledge allegiance to the underworld
    One nation under dog
There of which I stand alone
    A face in the crowd
    Unsung, against the mold
    Without a doubt
    Singled out
    The only way I know

I want to be the minority
    I dont need your authority
    Down with the moral majority
cause I want to be the minority

    Stepped out of the line
Like a sheep runs from the herd
    Marching out of time
    To my own beat now
    The only way I know

    One light, one mind
    Flashing in the dark
Blinded by the silence of a thousand broken hearts
For crying out loud she screamed unto me
    A free for all
    F**k em all
    You are your own sight

I want to be the minority
    I dont need your authority
    Down with the moral majority
cause I want to be the minority

This song came out the year after I left and I kinda felt like it was about leaving the JW's in a way. Their album was called 'Maybe You've Been Brainwashed Too'. It wasn't until a couple of years ago I found out the lead singer (Gregg Alexander) is a former born-in.

New Radicals - You Get What You Give

    Wake up kids
    We've got the dreamers disease
    Age fourteen
They got you down on your knees
    So polite
    You're busy still saying please

    Frienemies
Who when you're down ain't your friend
    Every night
    We smash their mercedes-benz
    First we run
And then we laugh 'till we cry

But when the night is falling
And you cannot find the light
If you feel your dream is dying
    Hold tight

You've got the music in you
    Don't let go
You've got the music in you
    One dance left
This world is gonna pull through
    Don't give up
You've got a reason to live
Can't forget you only get what you give

Four a.m. we ran a miracle mile
    We're flat broke
But hey we do it in style
    The bad rich
God's flying in for your trial

But when the night is falling
And you cannot find a friend
You feel your tree is breaking
    Just then

You've got the music in you
    Don't let go
You've got the music in you
    One dance left
This world is gonna pull through
    Don't give up
You've got a reason to live
    Can't forget
You only get what you give

This whole damn world can fall apart
You'll be ok follow your heart
You're in harms way I'm right behind
    Now say you're mine

You've got the music in you
    Don't let go
You've got the music in you
    One dance left
This world is gonna pull through
    Don't give up
You've got a reason to live
    Can't forget
You only get what you give

    Don't let go
We feel the music in you
    Fly high
    What's real can't die
You only get what you give
You're gonna get what you give
Just dont be afraid to leave

Health insurance rip off lying fda big bankers buying
    Fake computer crashes dining
    Cloning while they're multiplying
    Fashion mag shoots
With the aid of 8 dust brothers beck hanson
    courtney love and marilyn manson
    You're all fakes
    Run to your mansions
    Come around
    We'll kick your ass in

WOW -It would seem everyone here has impeccable taste in Music.

OTWO - The logical song is one of my all time favourites, Supertramp were on my Mums "banned" list because of long way home, but even she had to admit to the genius of the Albm "Breakfast in America".

Hotel California - awesome for any occasion.

Bon JOvi, AC DC, Greenday, New Radicals - you guys must have access to my IPod

How I felt when I realized that I equated the real Creator with the Watchtower Society's version of Jehovah God ...

    John Lennon - God

    God is a concept,
    By which we can measure,
    Our pain,
    I'll say it again,
    God is a concept,
    By which we can measure,
    Our pain,
    I don't believe in magic,
    I don't believe in I-ching,
    I don't believe in bible,
    I don't believe in tarot,
    I don't believe in Hitler,
    I don't believe in Jesus,
    I don't believe in Kennedy,
    I don't believe in Buddha,
    I don't believe in mantra,
    I don't believe in Gita,
    I don't believe in yoga,
    I don't believe in kings,
    I don't believe in Elvis,
    I don't believe in Zimmerman,
    I don't believe in Beatles,
    I just believe in me,
    Yoko and me,
    And that's reality.
    The dream is over,
    What can I say?
    The dream is over,
    Yesterday,
    I was dreamweaver,
    But now I'm reborn,
    I was the walrus,
    But now I'm John,
    And so dear friends,
You just have to carry on,
    The dream is over.

This is how I felt when I came out of the apostate closet ...

    Crumblin Down by John Cougar

Some people ain't no damn good
You can't trust 'em you can't love 'em
    No good deed goes unpunished
And I don't mind bein' their whippin' boy
I've had that pleasure for years and years
No no I never was a sinner--tell me what else can I do
Second best is what you get 'til you learn to bend the rules
And time respects no person--what you lift up must fall
They're waiting outside to claim my tumblin' walls
Saw my picture in the paper
Read the news around my face
And now some pepole don't want to treat me the same
When the walls come tumblin' down
When the walls come crumblin' crumblin'
When the walls come tumblin' tumblin' down

    Moody Blues - "Question"

Why do we never get an answer
When we're knocking at the door?
    With a thousand million questions
About hate and death and war.

It's where we stop and look around us
There is nothing that we need.
    In a world of persecution
That is burning in it's greed.

Why do we never get an answer
When we're knocking at the door?
Because the truth is hard to swallow
That's what the wall of love is for.

It's not the way that you say it
When you do those things to me.
It's more the way that you mean it
When you tell me what will be.

And when you stop and think about it
    You won't believe it's true.
That all the love you've been giving
Has all been meant for you.

I'm looking for someone to change my life.
I'm looking for a miracle in my life.
And if you could see what it's done to me
To lose the the love I knew
    Could safely lead me through.

Between the silence of the mountains
And the crashing of the sea
There lies a land I once lived in
And she's waiting there for me.

But in the grey of the morning
    My mind becomes confused
Between the dead and the sleeping
And the road that I must choose.

I'm looking for someone to change my life.
I'm looking for a miracle in my life.
And if you could see what it's done to me
To lose the the love I knew
    Could safely lead me to
The land that I once knew.
To learn as we grow old
    The secrets of our souls.

It's not the way that you say it
When you do those things to me.
It's more the way you really mean it
When you tell me what will be.

Why do we never get an answer
When we're knocking at the door?
    With a thousand million questions
About hate and death and war.
