My five year old son Joshua, who happens to have autism and is apparently becoming more conversational, just said that to me. Josie |

Go to noradsanta.org and he can watch where Santa goes, and where he has been.

If he gets his smarts and heart from you, along with those looks=watch out world!
I have men in my life without an autism diagnosis that I would be glad to get that much conversation out of. He is doing wonderful. That is exactly what any kid that age is wondering right about now, and he is expressing it. My 8 year old was trying to put out milk and cookies for Santa before dinner. I told him we don't want to poison Santa with rotten milk. Got him all worried. Now he wants to give Santa a note with his cookies that says the milk is in the fridge:) We made gingerbread cookies today. The house smells amazing, but no one here much likes gingerbread cookies. So Santa and the neighbors will get them. |

Go to noradsanta.org and he can watch where Santa goes, and where he has been. We went there and my eight year old went gaga over the site. We made gingerbread men and women and as soon as "The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe" went off my kids rushed to bed. Joshua was singing Christmas song before he fell asleep. He's so excited about Santa. I don't remember him being this aware of Christmas last year. Josie |

Because we are concerned about Santa's ever expanding waistline, we put out a plate of carrots and celery and granola bars for the REINDEER. The Reindeer do most of the heavy pulling and lifting so it makes sense to leave them some complex carbohydrates for energy. (I chew on them after he goes to sleep LOL, and leave the 'remains' scattered on the table near the fireplace....) Tonight he wrote a note, "Dear Santa, Sorry we didn't leave you milk and cookies, we just don't want you to get too fat!!!!" |

When my little one was about 3 or 4 and was in preschool (and I was a well indoctrinated dub), on Christmas Day he asked if he was going to "school" that day. I said, "No- its Christmas Day" With a panicked look he told me, "What?!! Hurry, we have to put up a tree so that Santa will come and give us toys!" To which, I, as a good dubbie explained that there was no such thing as Santa, and that we didn't celebrate Christmas. And in one moment, I destroyed his fantasy world and innocence. Now- fast forward 6 years... last night we had a great Christmas eve. Complete with tree, and party, and egg nog, and lots of presents this morning. He got real spoiled with presents and we all feel like this is our first real Christmas. (Although any hope of magic or belief in something besides me buying stuff is long gone.) But I remember still how I crushed his imaginary world a few years ago. And it crushes me. Happy Christmas everyone. May you find peace and freedom

That must have just knocked you over! When my daughter was nearly five, she finally began to talk. She isn't autistic, but she is adorable--just like your son!! That will be a memory to cherish. Write it down somewhere special. bebu |

I just got back on here after a big move. My husband was not a witness, I was. I am very leery of lying to the kids, because I felt that is what happened to me in the organization. But I do believe in Magic, and I believe that Santa is in all of us- when we give the perfect present and watch someone light up, Santa lives on. When we buy a toy for the 'Toys for Tots' drive, Santa lives on. He is the spirit of giving, of love, of sharing, of holiday cheer.
