    I am willing to be spontaneous, but only if I'm prepared first.  You know clean the house, wash the car, fill the tank, mow the lawn, grocery shop, make a map quest,run to the ATM, find a sitter, take a shower. Then I'm up for anything!

    I like plans.  I hate spontaneous unless I start it.  I hate being asked to do spontaneous things.

    I have thought about my reply to this thread since it was posted last night. I have written out several replies on paper just to see how they sounded.

    I have decided to respond that I am definately spontaneous.

    I like having 'some' plans but can be very spontaneous. 

    Sometimes just knowing that I'm spending a day with someone is good enough plans.  Then just let the day progress.

    One day I took little brother to coffee shop for pastry breakfast.  Train station was just across the street.  We decided to hop on the next train (either direction) and just see where it took us.  Probably one of the funnest quick trips I've ever taken.  We created memories and still have traditions that originated on that trip.

    I vote for making plans ahead of time. . .I once had a cruise planned. I had figured out what I was doing, which tours I would take, where they went, the food I wanted to try(tried recipes beforehand to see if I might like it). . .well, the day before the cruise, they CANCELLED it because there was a HVAC issue and the ship was out of order.

    Two years later I took an actual cruise. I think I had more fun PLANNING the cruise I didn't go on than I did the cruise I actually went on;) Ok, not quite true, but I did have a lot of fun with the cruise I never went on. I think I have more fun when I am not feeling lost.

    It depends on what it is. Most times I go with the flow but having plans to look forward to is good as well.

    When you have met enough youngsters, talk of "relaxed approach" and "spontanaiety" brings to my mind those who are too immature or inexperienced to see how special their only time on earth actually is.

    People with the most interesting lives tend to  plan and be well organised.

    It is good to have a sufficiently flexible life to just take off and do stuff when you need to.
