Dick Van Dyke gets married

  Congratulations are in order for iconic actor Dick Van Dyke, 86, who
married his 40-year-old makeup artist, Arlene Silver, on Feb. 29.

  The two met six years ago at the SAG Awards, Van Dyke told RumorFix.
"I was in the green room and she passed through and I was bowled over
by her beauty," he said.

  The "Mary Poppins" star, who has been working in Hollywood since
1957, told the website he hired Silver to be his personal makeup
artist and they quickly developed a friendship. "The last couple of
years we kind of fell in love," he explained. "She keeps up with me."

  The couple's Leap Day nuptials were "kinda on the spur of the moment,"
he admitted. "We just decided Leap Day would be the best time to do
it."

  As for Silver, who is younger than Van Dyke's career in Hollywood, she
told the website, "[Dick] is the happiest person I ever met. He's got an
infectious spirit."

  This is Van Dyke's second marriage. In 1948, he married Margerie Willett,
with whom he had four children. After a long separation the two divorced in
1984. The actor then lived with girlfriend Michelle Triola Marvin for more than
30 years until her death in 2009. Van Dyke admits he enjoys being in a relation-
ship, telling RumorFix, "I'm not a loner. I have to have a life partner. I found
the perfect one."

Dick van D. is a geezer but with viagra and a lot of encouragement his new bride should be able to earn her keep.

I doubt all of his self works and at his age, I doubt viagra works either. I kind of doubt she married him expecting that kind of success.

I remember my aunt, when she had her 'beau'. She was in her 90's, and he was in his 80's. It was cute to see them together.

I do like Dick van Dyke. Good in everytnhing he does. Good for him, and good luck to them both.

Hm let's see, Fred Astair married a lady 45 years his junior and Tony Randall married a lady 60 his junior.  From what I've read the marriages appeared to be happy.

There is a two hour interview with Dick on the TV legends site. In all that time I never once heard him speak ill of anyone. Three were people he had struggles and problems with and that were obviously trash towards him but he never once spoke ill of them. He would always say, "They were in a bad mood" or "We managed to work together and do some good things." He never swore or called anyone anything negative. Thats why he's still a healthy 80 something. By the way, Anthony Quinn became a father at 81, Tony Randall at 84. I guess some men have better rope than others.
