It's been a while since I read a book. Haven't read a book since I got married. She even got mad when I bought a hardcover book instead of a paperback which is cheaper. LOL

Looks interesting, I'm browsing the titles. Cool deal and cool beans!

    Thanks for the excellent link.

Edit, hmmm, 9 bux for a year to down a book. Not sure if I wanna join. A bit disappointing though, I have to be very careful with my budget, especially now that my wife is home.

Well there are free books on the site, quite a few as a matter of fact.  Apple even has an app for iTouch and iPhones that's free.  I've already downloaded one free book onto my iPhone and I have a few more in mind.

Oh and the book fair is about downloading free ebooks...no fee.

Where does it say there's a fee?  Curious since I have downloaded a couple of free books.

You're good... I think all is well... although the free bit is supposed to start July 4th and run for a month.

    The front page says:

Our goal is to provide Free public access for a month to 2 Million eBooks. During the rest of the year you may continue to download your selection of about 500,000 PDF eBooks by joining the World Public Library. Annual membership is only $8.95 per year.

Thanks so much for the heads-up, Josie!

    Love,
    Baba.

No, the sites I posted have mainly ebooks and a few audibles.  The free ones are in the public domain and include a lot of classics.  I've found a series of woman detective stories from the late 1800's that I'm eager to download.  I've already downloaded a cute little book called "The Visiters" written by a 9 years old, I had seen a production of the book by the BBC (starring Hugh Laurie) and really wanted to read the book.

bttt because it's the fourth.  I think there was some confusion.  Trust me, there are free books available.  The fee is on the iBibilo site which is sort of an world online library.  There is no fee to download on the Project Gutenberg site (which is where I download).
