Biography: I was born and raised as a JW, baptized at age 12 and DA'd in 1998. My father was an unbeliever and my mother very zealous. It was forbidden for me to make friends, go to school events, participate in sports, date and listen to heavy metal. However, since my father was an unbeliever, I was also an outcast in my congregation, so I made no real friends in my very cliqueish congregation. I went to college despite the elders looking down on me for doing so. I did well academically, but socially I was a mess. I'm still trying to get over the indoctrination, but I'm slowly making progress.
