Yes, it's the David principle.  While the law said that adulterers were to be put to death, somehow it was not applied in his case.  I wonder what people thought in Israel who had lost a family member in a similar situation.

I know of two brothers about the same age and time in the organization.  Both had questionable second marriages.  One is serving as a MS and the other as an elder.  The one will never be an elder because an elder in his congregation is blocking it.  The other is in a different congregation with elders that supported his reappointment.

These are the unwritten rules that you find in a high-control, abusive group (which can be called a cult).
