    What's with the conspiracy of silence over this guy?  The Wright Brothers had to bask in his glory and now he's almost totally forgotten. Sure he didn't technically invent the airplane, but look at what he did!  He had already been using his motorized flying machine for regular nightly transportation to restaurants and nightclubs (tying his machine to light posts) by the time Orville and Wilbur managed to get their rickety awkward aeroplane a few feet above the Kitty Hawk beach!

    There were thousands who flew befor ethe Wright Brothers!

    All manner of amateurs were building models and trying them out but needing official clearance for claimed flights!

    Just so happens they got all the top brass on the right day to validate them being the first to do it!

    As we all know - official reality and reality are quite different!
