Well it appears the Watchtower is back at their executions.  The appeal committee has demanded to meet with Barb Anderson at a Motel.  After JR Brown besmirched her moral character by saying she was being disfellowshipped for other sins unrelated to the Dateline program, now three men want to meet her at a motel?  Why not the Kingdom Hall? Is Barb not worthy to walk into the building?  Is this funny or what.  Barbara is going to request the committee meet at her home instead.  Now the question is, will the committee give in to fear of "woman" and refuse to meet?  Or are they too consumed with this opportunity to "beat their sister" that they will meet at all costs.

Would anyone like to appear as a character witness for what Barbara Anderson has done?  If so please email me and I will be glad to let you know how to get there.  I plan to be there on Barbara's behalf and I welcome anyone who would like to stand with her husband and I as witnesses that protecting children is not a disfellowshipping offense.

    Mrs. Barbara J. Anderson

    Normandy, TN

    Dear Sister Anderson;

On June 5, 2002, we corresponded with you in response to your letter of in which you appeal the decision made by a judicial committee from the Manchester congregation.

A meeting was arranged to hear the appeal. However, we were informed that you could not be at the scheduled meeting due to the short notification period. We are pleased to arrange another meeting in accordance with your request.

Meeting has been set for 3:00 pm Sunday, July 21, 2002 at the following address; Ramada Inn, 2314 Hillsboro Blvd, Manchester, TN.

    Your Brother,

    R. E. Matthews

    Chairman appeal committee

How about Brooklyn, September 27, 2002 since so many of us will be there in the neighborhood anyway?

She can say she does not want to meet with anyone from her area, and we will all be there in New York and that's her final offer.

Anybody like?  It's a perfectly legitimate request as far as I can see.  let Watchtower appoint 3 (or more) men from New York to meet in a hotel room THERE!!!

They need the media there too ... NBC, BBC, CBC, CBS, etc. all converging on the Ramada Inn ... and the idiot Elders cannot keep the media out since they are not at the Kingdom Hall.

    Hi Bill,

They addressed her as "sister" Anderson, does this mean they might
    rule in her favor? Hmmm...

I believe that Barbara's integrity to Jehovah is being tested through this
unscriptural process they are subjecting her to. I also think that renting
a room in a hotel to conduct the meeting is a lapse in good judgment
(although the whole process seems to lack better judgment). Perhaps
they rented a small conference room?

If it's a hotel room, then they can deny others access to the room
legally (since it is "private property" during the rental period). Whereas
if they meet at Barbara's home, she can invite you and others inside.
However, in the hotel room, she must play by their rules or not enter
(and if she doesn't enter then she loses the appeal by default, I will
guess). They're getting shrewd, some attorney must be coaching the
    Watchtower on their every move.

Barbara could carry a tiny sensitive digital voice recorder so the
proceedings are covered. My heart and prayers go out for her to
endure and triumph over the evil being done to her by those whom,
by connecting this "judicial" process to Jehovah, are blaspheming
    Jehovah's name.

She is blessed to have a caring brother like you to look after her by
going to the hotel, even if you stand outside in the corridor.

    Dear Barbara:

Please approach this matter with caution.   The elders and their "legal department"  surely have

an agenda   by  the way they are trying to   meet  up with you in a Motel.   They are no doubt

concerned that there could be a hidden camera or recording device at  the "meeting."  Of

course,  if they can record the meeting themselves, they are free to edit it  for their own  purposes.

But could you please  consider the time involved in this meeting  as well at the  emotional

    cost.

After all, do you  really  want to be part of the WTS after all that we know???

WHAT? This has gone too far, and is now starting to become rather ridiculous. What a situation.

Indeed, we are living in "interesting times".

Good point Amazing, they can even put up hidden cameras there, since it is not in the kingdom hall.

I mean if they shut the doors and only a few are allowed in, set up micros and cameras.

I am curious, they say these are charges of other things , sins, not related to the dateline thing.

What are they accusing her of?  What are these "unrelated " things they keep saying?

YC, I think the point is that she really did not do anything to be disfellowshipped for.  Therefore, whether she leaves the organization or not should be up to her.  It should be solely on her terms and not on theirs.

    LOL.

This way, if she agrees to meet with them, they can disfellowship her for agreeing to meet three (strange) men at a hotel.

    Sneaky barstards! lol.

    Great idea!

Having the meeting in a hotel.

Just bug the room with video and mics and record all the fun happenings.

Thats just what I did in 1996  (no video) only sound  at my meeting with the Gestapo, sorry I  mean  elders.

    http://www.jesus-witnesses.com/jimriz.htm

The elders were not too happy with me for doing it, but what the heck they can read it and listen to it on the web just like everyone else,  LOL.

Barb should consider making her own recording of this meeting. Easy to do with an MP3 recorder with a little extra memory. In this digital age, you can put words into a person's mouth so easily it's ridiculous. But you knew that.

I suspect the elders will rent a room, and watch Barbara Anderson like
a hawk as she enters and is seated (to prevent wiretapping). Also, anyone
who demands to enter the room can be legally turned away. The room is
a private rental, and whomever's credit card is used to pay for the room
can decide who to let in.

Should she refuse to enter under these conditions, I suspect they will
dismiss her appeal and close the file.

I hope that I'm wrong but their dubious motel rental scheme leads me to
suspect they are planning to railroad Barbara Anderson's judicial appeal.

I think they want to have it at a Hotel so they won't get any media coverage of what is going on with the Kingdom Hall in the background caught on video tape. You know, part of the protect our image at all costs campain.

Barb is still a sister.  I think she should insist on having it at the kingdom hall since she is still a sister.  Invite the media and get more coverage.  The WT does not like seeing the KH in those news programs with the elders running away from reporters into them for all to see.

    She should also record it.

The criteria of holding a judicial meeting at a local motel not only sounds peculiar but also sounds dangerous. I question the safety of Barbara Anderson in such a setting.

3 men meeting with a woman in a hotel room? How STRANGE is that?

With all my experience dealing with the JW's, and having heard stories from my grandfather and his friends with over 40 years serving as elders prior to his death, I have NEVER heard such a suggestion.

Why not have Barbara Anderson submit the letter requesting the brothers meet with her at a hotel to Dateline or the local media? As the Dateline program pointed out that Bill Bowen and Barbara Anderson were facing "expulsion" from their local church after going public, surely written proof demonstrating the "elders" Gestapo tactics of 3 men meeting a woman at a local motel would be tasty to a journalist to further the story.

Only my opinion, but my thoughts and well wishes are certainly with Both Mr. Bowen and Mrs. Anderson.

    Keep roaring Silentlambs!

Maybe some on the comittee had invited some younger publishers to stay the night.

They do have meeting rooms and banquet facilities at that particular hotel.  I recall when I visited a couple of Congregations in tennessee that a number of people had menial jobs at various hotels.  I remember one brother being so proud that he attained the postion of night desk clerk or such.

I am presuming that a JW works at this hotel and has arranged use of one of the meeting rooms for the reason mentioned above..to keep the Kingdom Hall out of the media.

If Barbara agrees to this location, which I discourage BTW, I would think the media could be accomodated in an adjoining banquet hall awaiting barbara's comments afterwards...Of course what the media are able to hear through the walls ....  smirking.

I am sorry they just aren't leaving her alone and that she ahs to continue to go through this.

My heart is with you Barbara.

This appears to be an unprecedented request by a judicial committee. It seems wise for there to be a  call to N.Y. by Barbara's lawyer requesting written confirmation that this is acceptable form and that the letter is valid.  The letter might also include notification that , in harmony with prudence and all that has been written in pertinent WT articles, Barbara at no time will allow herself to be alone with three men in a motel .  Furthermore because of the "times we live in" the police will be notified that this meeting is taking place.
      Close

      Confirm ...
