       The world wide protest against the Watchtower Organization for their breaking up families and shunning former members has now began. We encourage you to to participate in this event. We want the world to know the problems the Watchtower Org. is causing in deliberately encouraging  family members to shun  or avoid contact with former members. Come out from behind your computer screens, stand tall be courageous speak out and let the world know how dangerous The Watchtower Org. is. The world wide protest begins Friday Jan 21, 2011 and ends Sun. J an 23.

Is everyone busily making their picket signs?

My husband is participating in a radio broadcast on shunning on Monday. We're busy putting together evidence that the society advocates shunning as a method of bullying members who choose who leave. 

The broadcaster telphoned bethel and was told that shunning was a personal choice by individuals and was not advocated by the watchtower society. It is good to know they are still happy to lie makes me feel glad we exited.

That is easily fixed with their own official website.  The only personal choice is to shun or be shunned yourself.

I'll see what we can do it is being broadcast by Radio Somerset on monday morning and is relating what happened to a JW baptised at 15 and subsequently Df'd.  They wanted an ex elder to give their perspective on shunning and Cantleave agreed. I understand there will be other ex jw contributors as well.  Some of these programs can be accessed via the web so I'll dig around at the weekend to see if it will be possible. Otherwise I'll have to drive down the coast and tune in. It will be even better if we can get an MP3 link. I'm hoping it goes well for all concerned it is so important that this practice is exposed.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing UC... it looks kinda dead there.  I'd love to see that sign on the billboard next to the Long Island Expressway right before the entrance to the Midtown Tunnel.  But hey, its a start!

People need to be warned about JW's breaking up families, I'm glad they are protesting. Those self righteous policy makers in their ivory tower need a taste of the hurt they have caused thousands of families. Down with WTS!

Nugget, I hope brother cantleave has taken note of the Borg's official website article that Black Sheep linked to here in this thread.  I think the Broadcaster would be interested to see for him/herself that the WT official lied to him.  That will be a second black mark, in addition to the shunning.
