Hey folks, someone sent me this link by this writer who claims to have traveled to an alternate dimension where the Beatles never broke up.  He posted the whole album to download.

I doubt the story obviously but since there's alot of Beatles fans on the board I figured I'd share it with all of you.  At the very least it's a pretty good sound-alike band.

Then they'd be the Rolling Stones.

A lot of it is lifted from all of the solo albums. I listened to the first track and started laughing.

At least someone has a vivid imagination!

I was talking to a friend yesterday. We still marvel at the quality and quantity of work they did in just over 7 years. Most bands take 3-4 years to do an album now. Those guys busted one out every few months and a great portion of the work is considered classics.

Oh jeez, among the worst mashups I've yet encountered.

This guy thought he had to make up some ridiculous story to get his substandard mashups heard?

If that's what the Beatles would sound like, THANK GOD THEY BROKE UP!!  I'd take "Imagine", "Cracker Jack Palace", "Band on the Run", "When We Was Fab" over this crap in an instant.

The headache-inducing opening track "Four Guys" mashes up "Band on the Run" by Wings (sped up 2 or 3x), "When We Was Fab" by George Harrison, sound samples from "The Beatles Story", and a John Lennon interview.

The second track mashes up Paul McCartney's "Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey" with John Lennon's "I'm Losing You".

The third track "Anybody Else" combines John Lennon's "One Day (At a Time)" with Paul McCartney's "Somedays" and Ringo Starr's "Monkey See, Monkey Do".

The mashups for the most part sound to me like an atonal, chaotic mess.

That's kind of where I thought it was a sound-alike band.  I wasn't placing the music tracks.  I'll have to send you some of my mash-ups, everyone tells me they're really good.  I used to post on get your bootleg on.

I'm one of the greatest Beatle funs in this board along with Mr. Flipper!!!

But I'll stick to this dimension!!! Personally I prefer the fact they broke up and keep it that way...they created a legend and this is what I like to have..

    THE LEGENTARY BEATLES

Legentary is probably preferable to sedentary or senile Dementiary Beatles.

    Legendary is even better.

Exactly.  The Stones were a great band...from 64 to 74.  After that they were pretty much a parody of themselves.  They continued to put stuff out, but they were clearly not the same band as they were at their peak (especially after losing Brian Jones and then Mick Taylor).

I still listen to all the great Stones albums, but ignore all the later stuff as insignificant, or not even good.  With the Beatles, you can put on any album and it's still great.

The Beatles legend and genius lives on.  The Stones (as a band) outlived their creativity and influence which hurt their legend status.

The one good thing about the Stones...they do put on one hell of a show, even into their 60s.  And I love Keef.  Something about him embodies all that is rocknroll hedonism, even as an old drunk.  I wouldn't wanna be him, but he is fun to watch.
