    I have been using it for a few weeks and it has worked quite well.

    7-Zip is what I use. Unpacks all popular compressed formats:

    ARJ, CAB, CHM, CPIO, DEB, DMG, HFS, ISO, LZH, LZMA, MSI, NSIS, RAR, RPM, UDF, WIM, XAR and Z.

    Compresses in only the following: 

    7z, ZIP, GZIP, BZIP2 and TAR

    Yeah, I've been using PowerArchiver 6 for years (that was the last free version) and it is getting dated.
