Another forum that I'm a part of has this feature where you can go to a person's profile and select ignore, then when you're reading through posts it won't show you any posts from that particular member.

I think this would be a fantastic feature to add here.

I'm sorry Tuesday.  I'm not going to be around much for the next couple of weeks, so no need to put me on ignore.

A terrible idea. I am on another forum where they do nothing but discuss who they will put on ignore next. Give me strength. If you're not interested don't read it.

Why do you need the feature Tuesday? Does reading an opinion that contradicts your own give you cognitive dissonant discomforts?

    Here, this will help you:

Here's a radical idea: If there's a particular poster you don't like to read, and you see he/she has posted something....don't read it!

I can buzz through a thread and read nothing posted by Reniaa and still enjoy the rest of the thread, I can tell roughly the crap she has posted by the replies, if that is what I want to do.

I see no need for an iggy, button, I think it must spoil the true nature of debate.

"If it ain't broke, then don't fix it" comes to mind.

Have you read my posts?  Does it seem like I shy away from that sort of stuff?  The forum that it's on is a local wrestling one where I just ignore the blatant shill people so I can read the real reviews.  I like your posts BTS, I like seeing things defended well, I don't enjoy reading through 47 posts going through 100 different scriptures so that I can get to one post that says something interesting.  It would simply be easier for me to read through the posts I enjoy, no other reason than to be able to scroll through posts alot quicker.

Since you can be so pithy BTS, can I get a chance to as well with help of a photo.  Until you thoroughly research your posters...

    Get it while it's hot.

If possible, it may be an idea for the thread author to be able to delete any posts/posters who are disrupting/spamming/hijacking their thread...?

You're right Reniaa. Ignoring a user that you do not like on an internet forum, is exactly like your mother refusing to see or speak to you. I sometimes wonder if you are as stupid as you sound, or if you have to slam your head into the corner of your desk repeatedly before you post to get to the level of retardation that you need to get your "style" just right.

    Proverbs 11:12 (New International Version)

12 A man who lacks judgment derides his neighbor,
but a man of understanding holds his tongue.

"Let the women learn in silence with all subjection. But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. For Adam was first formed, then Eve. And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression." (I Timothy 2:11-14)

Bad idea. We'd have to find a new place where we could act out our disfunctionality.
