Are you saying that individual JWs used twisted logic and outright lies to implement instructions from the GB or that Barbara attacked individual JWs who were following GB instructions by using twisted logic and outright lies?

If it is the latter could you explain the lies she told?

Is this your way out of responding?  I have seen that often with JWs, they say stupid things (and we all do that) but they tend to shove it under the carpet instead of dealing with things head on.  It becomes a deep setted personality trait.

My life is complex. For years, I've been trying to achieve spiritual goals that have been inhibited by personal wrongdoing. It's up to me to ascertain the legitimacy of these goals, but this has something to do with my current mental state.

Sometimes it takes a long time to work out what is real, and what is true. Sometimes you have to search for answers in places where you don’t want to go, and you find out things you didn’t want to know; but however you slice it and dice it, the answers still remains the same.  Some beliefs you think will never change just turn to ashes when examined. You can ask: Who was Jehovah? What does the Bible really represent? Can there ever be a true religion? You might think you know, and there is no point asking these questions; but what you believe determines the actions you take, and ultimately your destiny in life.

I left the Witnesses over 20 years ago, but I was an ex-jdub gone wild; and never found out the truth about the Witnesses until I came to JWN a couple of years ago. The real truth will set you free….

Okay, it seems that I didn't misunderstand that and several other sly accusations in that thread.  You must understand that it is not debating but rather slander if you cannot substantiate those comments. 

It is probably better to make your apology on that thread (before any possible legal action is taken) and directly to Barbara.  She is a lovely person and no doubt would understand that you are dealing with some serious problems at the moment.

Enjoy your movie, I hope it is a pleasant one, they can be relaxing.

To some extent, I don't know who I am. I've become inactive. I don't feel hurt by the Watchtower society, I've just lost interest in attending meetings.

I just say what comes to mind. If I've said something that made someone mad I'll apologize to them. It may be that I offended you because you called me dickhead, so I apologize. But it very well may be that Barbara Anderson didn't give a crap about what I said.

Ok celestial i will take that as an apology and sorry for the stern words i said. Barbara is really a nice person and has been through a lot for her faith.Send her a PM and you will see the calibre of this woman. Just go easy when you post as some ( and i include myself) react to  any nastiness towards the "legends" of our forum.

To be honest, I am sick of the big headed arrogance of some posters who think they can ignore the posting guidelines or that they are above them. They apply to all of us, not just to people posting under 1000 times.

Y'all don't want to take this forum too seriously- there are some completely unhinged people on the forum who have been here for years, and the mods seem happy with that, so why should we worry? Everyone makes mistakes here- taking the forum too seriously, or posting things they later regret- so what? Don't lose any sleep over it...if you have called it as you see it. The truth is out there, and I'm sure we'll find it... in the end.

PS i was raised a JW and i have and still always will respect the older ones amoungst us. Im not ashamed to speak out in their defence either.Perhaps shepherd you could find a more worthy forum to post on than ours.

I don't mind stepping into the middle of something that's nothing to do with me.  That's kind of how a discussion board works.  You start a discussion and whoever wishes to comment does so.  If you don't want anyone other than a specific person to reply to something you write then you send an email or a pm.  So, in the interest of stepping into the middle of something that's nothing to do with me I would point out that shepherd makes a damn good point.  :)
