Topics I've Posted on Disappear~Where Do They Go?

I know this seems silly, but....

I posted on a topic about Klingons and another one on Fish.  They were just silly little posts from Nathan Natas but when I checked back, they were completely gone.  I have no idea how to find them. 

I really had to think through my response on Klingons and was curious how it was received.

This happens often.  How do I lose posts and how do I find them again?  Also, if for some reason the thread was deleted, how do I find that out?  In the past, weren't threads just locked but the title was still there?

But really I've had a couple of topics just disappear without warning.  I know the mods are busy but I wish that there was some way to tactfully tell someone privately when their topic is going to disappear.  I've protested publicly on the board and was told that was a no-no but it seemed to gain me the attention I needed to alert whoever removed my topics that those topics were not what the mod thought they were.  Geez I'm rambling...

Was there anything offensive there? I have had this happen from time to time a long time ago - but haven't seen it happen lately personally.

I don't see how discussing whether Klingons are lactose intolerant is offensive, but since I was unable to see the rest of the thread, perhaps there was info there that I didn't know about.

Perhaps the board software is possessed by evil spirits? Or perhaps there is an evil spirit in a moderator that just loves to quash topics he/she/it doesn't understand.

I started two other threads that same day. One asked if Unicorns could do algebra, and the other asked if fish could paint with watercolors.

Those threads also vanished by the same unseen hand.

I think that phallic symbol in the middle of a unicorn's head is a bit much for some to handle

Seriously, St Ann, I - just for the fun of it - tried searching for a thread I'd started - knew where it was, how to access it, but thought I'd test out the ol' search engine -

Which failed to find it.  TOTALLY.  EVEN tho I FINALLY typed in the EXACT TITLE.

I am not thrilled with the 'search' function on this site - poor Simon and Lady Lee must be swamped with all the things they need to fix...
